1/25 Rc 1991 Z28!!!!!!

I am tired of companies not making cool 3rd gen stuff.... So I made my OWN!!!! dammit....
thought I would post some pics... the car is temporary, i have to do some fine tuning on fitment, but it is still cool as hell

and a short little vid, no sound, and made with a digital camera so bare with me...

Looks great!!! With 2, you and a buddy can race them.

I assume you are planning to do more coats of paint after final fitment. There's a lot of red plastic still showing on the outer body.

Is the body taken from a normal 1/25th scale kit?

Are Xmods a Radio Shack exclusive product? Which model did you buy?

I've seen some impressive 4th gen F-body R/C cars before. They were "real" R/C, not Radio Shack toys though.

I bought the (mustang) kit because the wheels looked better, but then bought a wheel kit, bearing upgrade and tires. I had to stretch the chassis... There are some screws in the back that can be removed and adjusted (I'll post pics). The X-mods are available at Radio Shack only. And for the doner body I used an Ertl 1991 Z28 dealer promo car from one of the 18 that I have. The only thing I am having problems with is how to mount the body. I am thinking of using some type of velcro. And the red showing through isnt that bad in normal light, it makes the pearl stand out more. Once I find a way to get the body mounting taken care of, I am going to mount my Black 1991 Z28 body so I can have a "mini me". Then I'll have to wire up the headlight and taillight/brake light kit....

That's a great use of those dealer promo cars. Those are for sale on Ebay all the time.

Did ERTL make Firebird versions? I've never seen any.

There are 2 kinds of Xmods, gen1 and gen2... The gen 2 are way better. alot of upgrades done. There are screws on the chassis of the gen2s that you can remove and make the chassis longer. And as for the pontiac ones its NO. For some reason Pontiac was never into the promo toys as much as Chevrolet but this is coming out soon...
