wheeels!

ok so im putting some american racing 17" wheels on my maro, there off a 4th gen and they have correct backspacing for a 4th gen, what i need to know is what thickness wheel spacer i need for the front and the rear to put them on a 3rd gen"?

it should be a 2 inch adapter. That is what I have seen most of on the board. You could also go with 2 in the front and then less in the rear with some inner fender massaging. I do not know a whole lot about any of it but I have 2's on my car and about to go to a 17X11 wheel and i am looking at some fender modification. hope this helps.

well my car is keeping the stock ride height, so i dont think fender lip clearance will be an issue, thanks for the reply

2" spacers sound rediculous . Id be worried about snapping studs with all that leverage on the studs. U will also need longer studs probly .

This isn't an issue with bolt on spacers. The bolt ons bolt to the hub, then the wheel bolts to the spacer. Even some of the autoX/RR guys use them. Thats about as much stress as you could put on them.

Ya they may be a bit better than the floating ones . If it was me I would just get a proper wheel for the car . IMO .
