I need to know what open ended lug nuts you are running if so?

I am using the plain old 13/16" headed ones (open end) you can pick up at Autozone, but the area where the taper meets the flats of the lug nut did into the rim and gouge it out, almost like the taper on them is too wide and/or too short.

What is the factory correct taper for the Iroc wheels anyway? This alone may help me get closer to an answer.

 

I am running ARP 2.970x1/2 wheel studs amd 1/2 inch lungs of course. I have extenuating circustance though that allow me to run closed end lungnuts with the use of custom brakes and custom hubcentric wheel spacers press fit onto the hubs. I am also running 4 rear factory IROC rims on all four corners so I can rotate tires without dismounting them from the rims.


Your question pertains to taper and if they are gouging you have the wrong taper angle. I believe if I recal off hand we have a 45* taper and you are probably trying to run a 60* taper lug.

Closed end or open does not matter now that I re read my post, as you stated I need to know the correct taper more than anything.

45 degrees it is!

 

Our OEM factory wheels have a 60 degree lugnut seat. The only 45 degree seats I've seen are on some trucks and on circle track wheels.
