Asking for an opinion

Hey Guys,

Thinking about doing the following combo for my 82 camaro. I want your opinion.

For starters 18" replica IROC wheels. 18x8 fronts and 18x10 in rear. The 18x8's will need to be widened 2".

The tires I want to use are M/T Sportsman S/R

Front Size will be 26X10.00R18LT and the rears will be 28X12.00R18LT.

I want to paint the rims to match my car.

Can this combo work as I have described?

Thanks in advance,

ok, it can work.. dont see why it wouldnt.. it must be me, but thats the only question i see.. i'm assuming its not gonna be the chrome rim?? just a painted/powder coated look with the strips painted the car color?? and make sure you can fit the rim under there.. backspacing, backspacing, backspacing... and offset

Re: Asking for an opinion

sounds pretty good, i'd prolly go with 17s, but thats just me.

is it a DD with those MT's? don't think they'd last long in that scenario, but they sure do look sharp!

Re: Asking for an opinion

What do you mean the fronts will need to be widened 2"? Also, you might have some problems with those rears depending on the b.s. you use. I had to do some inner fender work to get my 17x10s to sit nicely. It all depends on how much you want the wheel to stick out of the wheel well (I didn't want mine to stick out at all).

Re: Asking for an opinion

Thanks TA,
I would go with the 17"s but the M/T S/R's don't come in 17"s. and I like the tread pattern. I have installed a set of E/T Streets 28x11.5-16's on the stock front IROC wheel with no rubbing after a small massaging. I know I will need a spacer for the rears to clear. Yes I plan on getting a set of non-chrome rims if possible.

I drive the car less than 10k a year. Mainly going for a cool look that is stock appearing and matches the car. I plan on keeping the stock ride height. I have the 16's for the track / strip. What other tires have an aggressive tread pattern?

Thanks again,

Oscar

Edit: Only the rears will be widened.. I don't want them to sticck out at all. SuperKev do you have some pics of your 17x10's. What back spacing and tire do you have?

Thanks
