need help putting a price on iroc rims
i have a set of 4 86 iroc 16" rims that i currently striping the clear down and sanding the rims up to 12000 grit then buffing them and then respraying them with clear coat. a couple of them have small gouges on them but you'd have to be up and close to see them plus there not on the bead.but when its all done they look like new polished rims. also the center caps are shot. I've seen the caps on ebay for about $50 for all four but not sure if that's a good price or not. I've haven't done much searching but the little I have done I have noticed they are hard to find new.But I'm not sure if the cost of the new caps would pay of in the end.So any ideas on a price range would be helpful.I'm not trying to get rich off these rims just hoping to help pay for new rubber on the 91-92 camaro rims that are on the car now.Or maybe sell both iroc and z28 rims and upgrade to 17" rims but very unlikely.also sort of been watching ebay and seen a pair of 85-87 rims go for about $300 plus $100 for S&H and they weren't in the greatest of shape. well thanks in advance.

Re: need help putting a price on iroc rims
I just sold a set of 1-line IROC rims (87 or so) with 1 complete cap, 2 caps with no insert, and one missing cap, otherwise pretty good (I'd say, 8½-9 out of 10); 4 tires, working and holding air, but largely used up; $250 cash.
If you have to buy tires, I'd strongly recommend upgrading. That's why I got rid of mine: I had to buy tires anyway, and I'm like, I can either spend giga$$$ on a bunch of 16s, or I can spend a few less giga$$$ on Corvette tires and a few extra $$$ on a set of wheels, and have a FAR better combo.
Since I'm telling you I sold the 16s, shouldn't be too hard to figure out which way seemed wiser.

Re: need help putting a price on iroc rims
well I've been searching the "internets" with out muck luck for used 17" wheels there's a some out there but they seem a little high on price $700+ plus shipping that ranges around $100. plus then I'd need wheel spacers although they have seen to come down on price over the years. plus some of the cheaper rims have the corvette symbol on the. I know it doesn't make difference's but I'd have a hard time seeing the corvette flag on a camaro.and the other thing that gets me is it's almost another $50 per tire from the 16" wheel to the 17" wheel. but i did find a member on this board that has a set of 17's with 2 tires for sale for a good price. just not sure if i can get the wheels I have now unloaded before he can find a buyer...
I'll have to make a mental note to post a pic when i get a wheel done so maybe that can give you guys and gals a better asking price.
