295/30/18 vs 295/35/18

I've got one of my wheels painted and will be looking to put tires on them as soon as i have all 4 done. Right now, the plan is to run 275/40/17 tires on the front rims. For the rears, i got a killer deal on (1) like-new 295/30/18 Yokohama AVS Sport. The preferred size is a 295/35/18 and i'm wondering if running this smaller series tire will work OK. At this point i can either find another Yoko to match, or sell the one i have and look for a matching pair.
Let me know if anyone's had any experience running this size.
Thanks...

Does this mean you are running 17's on the front and 18's on the rear?

I'd say go with the size you want.

275 40 17 is 25.7" tall

295 35 18 is 26.1" tall

Re: 295/30/18 vs 295/35/18

Yeah, i have a stock set of Z06 wheels so 17 front, 18 rear.
I guess i'll have to get the 1 295/30/18 Yokohama i have mounted so i can look at the rim & tire combo on the car and make a decision from there.
If i like the look, i'll get another. If i think the tire looks too minimal in the
wheel well, i'll sell the one tire and pick up a pair of 295/35/18's.
Thanks Project.

Re: 295/30/18 vs 295/35/18

Th 295 30 18 Yokahama is too short. It's only 25.1" tall. You need a tire close to the stock height of 26".

Sell the Yokahama and go with the 295 35 18.

A short rear tire will throw off your speedo (unless you change speede gears).

The idea is to have front and rear tires the same height (or close to it)

Good luck

Re: 295/30/18 vs 295/35/18

Thanks for the info guys. I've still got some painting to do on the rims before i'm ready for rubber. Thinking i'll most likely sell the 295/30 and go with the 295/35. Besides, i'm having a tough time finding another AVS to match it.
