Tire Rubbing

When I bought my 1989 Camaro RS it came with a set of IROC rims. The tires on the rimes are 245/50/16. I am experiencing rubbing in the front of the car.

Questions:

Will a front end alignment eliminate this problem?

Or is the tire size to wide for a Camaro RS?

Re: Tire Rubbing

IROC wheels are NOT interchangeable front to rear and are marked on the wheels. It sounds like you have the rear wheels on the front. You can not rotate these wheels.

Re: Tire Rubbing

Actually I know that much. Ive seen the stamps and the front rims are in the front and the rear rims are in the rear. I also know that my front end is out of alignment 3 degrees (up and down passenger) and half a degree (up and down driver). the passenger side is the worst. However my Toe-in / out is dead on as described in the Haynes Manual.

Re: Tire Rubbing

Where/when is it rubbing? I have no rubbing, tires are under the fenders, not setting so far out that they stick out, with 275s.

Are you lowered? If so, how much?

Re: Tire Rubbing

The car as far as I know is bone stock and the previous owners did it no justice and screwed alot up on it. Ive put about 2200$ into it since I had to to keep it on the street. But as far if it is lowered It seems to be stock ride height to me. Doesnt seemed lowered If it was not much.
