My 87 camaro needs some drag tires now. Iron block. K1 crank, K1 rods. Wiesco pistons. 13:5-1. Stage 3 Cnc L92 heads: Flowing a healthy 378 cfm. Vic Jr carb intake. Carb shop 950hp carb. MSD Box, LS7 coils. 673 HP at the flywheel. Powerglide trans. 4:13 gears. I need some tires, I'm really interested in the M/T radials, but I heard you have to adjust your chassis a lot for these tires. What can I fit under there? Or what should I use. I heard the radials dont recover very well if they do slip. Gimme all the info you guy's have.

m/t streets should work fine. footbrake or transbrake? m/s street radials don't like to be shocked, they like to be loaded.

You can fit any size M/T street radial, just a matter of what wheel and how much hammering needed. I'd say 275/60/15 is the most common "easy" tire, meaning it takes no hammering or special wheel. I've had 275/50/15's, 275/60/15's, 295/65/15's, and 325/50/15's on mine. The 295/65 and 315/60 tires need the axle to be exactly centered in the wheel wells and some hammering. The 325/50's need hammering and need to be on a 15x10 wheel with 6.5" BS, as do the 315/60's. That same wheel will also work for any other street radial 275 and wider. The 275's can be used on a stock wheel, and I had my 295's on the stock wheels also.
My radials liked the hit from the trans brake, wheelie!

What are you using now? What rpm are you shifting at? What rpm are you going through the traps at? Why do you need radials?
Best guess would be some 28 x 10.5 slicks.

I dont "need radials" I just want to use them. Still getting the chassis squared away. My engine builder said. I'm going to start the shift at 6,500 and go up from there until It falls off. This car has never seem the strip yet. I could use the M/T et drag tire. Im just leaning toward the radial. I have some friend's that use the radial tire and they seem to love it but. They had to tweek there chassis more to get it to hook without slipping. They dont recover like a Bias drag slick. I'm hoping for High 6's low 7's in eigth mile. I"m assuming you dont or cant mini tub this unibody car unless your backhalfing the car...?

The radial tire is alot more stable at low an high speed ... I know it has been atleast in the 7's in th 1/4 . I like them because you can actually drive them on the road like a real street tire, lower the tire pressure and they hook like a slick and wrinkle
