Factory Wheel Spacer

Anybody know what the size of a factory wheel spacer is that was used on the rear?

I heard 3/8", which is about what I need to bring my wheels back out, but I'm not certain that's what it is.

Thanks for the help fellas,

-Levi

Re: Factory Wheel Spacer

Its only about 1/8" and was only used on drum rear cars with 16" wheels. Its basically useless if you ask me.

This from the 10-bolt FAQ:

The spacer was apparently used on 16" wheels when GM switched from aluminum to iron drums, which created a .187 size difference. The spacer, however, seems to be hit or miss and essentially unnecessary. Even some disc brake cars received them [mine did].

Re: Factory Wheel Spacer

Alright, thanks guys, disappointing, but i'll figure it out.

Any idea where I could find, say, a 10-15mm spacer that has the dual lug nut setup like the thicker 1" and up spacers, or are they even necessary for a spacer that thin? If I was go with say a 15mm spacer, would I have to change to longer studs for my front rotors, or could I just use the ones that are on there?

Thanks,

-Levi

Re: Factory Wheel Spacer

Those factory spacers were .187 thick and were usless. They were installed so the engineering drawing numbers would be correct and not show that -.187 dim error.

i bought some 91-92 wheels out of the local paper at a deal years ago.
loaded everything up and was going to leave and the guy was chasing me down waving the spacers.
"youll need these spacers or they wont fit."

Re: Factory Wheel Spacer

I've always wondered about those lil discs that came on my rear... Never knew they actually came from the factory like that... haha
