I am in the process of restoring a 1982 Pace Car. I am currently restoring the wheels and I am having problems applying the red stripe on the wheels. I have determined how to set the stripe location and width but I am having trouble getting paint to adhere to the aluminum. Has anyone done this before? Is there an adhesion promoter I should use on the aluminum before I apply the paint? Any advice would be appreciated.
