Stock Wheel Refinishing

I am wondering what is best way to refinish my set of wheels. I see it as two choices. Pay a professional refinishing company, or DIY. Anyone have any experience with either?
Here is a pic of the worst wheel.

It's embarrasing when the car is spotless and these show their ugly face

That aircraft paint stripper stuff works really good for getting off the old clear and any paint, but its messy and tedious. Once you get off the old stuff you can reclear it and they will look good again.

If you take it to someone and do not want them polished or have the existing surface changed make sure you make that real clear to them.

I did mine with aircraft paint remover. Used a small brush to color in blue lines to match car color. Clear coated them several layers.
