Wheel fitment question...

In an effort to be different I'm looking at a set of 2009 G8 wheels for my GTA if they'll fit. The dimensions of the wheels are going to be 18x8 (not a problem fitting in the wheel wells), but I have a question about the bolt pattern and offset. The factory bolt patter for the wheels is 5x120 with a 48mm offset and 14x1.5 lugs. Is 5x120 the same as 5x4.75? Will these bolt up, given the correct wheel adapter? If so, what size wheel adapter would I need to mount them on my 1988 GTA? Appreciate the assistance.

Re: Wheel fitment question...

4.75 is 120.65mm but if i remember right that means its only .65mm on each lug 5.120 are bmw specs and there is a few people on here running them so that shouldnt be a problem not sure about the offset and lug size though.

Good luck though post some pics up when you get them on

Re: Wheel fitment question...

Close enough to a Corvette GS ZR1 style wheel (17x9.5/50mm) which uses a 2" adapter for 3rd gen fitment.

Some of the BMW wheel guys have had to use a rat tail file to slightly clearance the wheel lug holes, but that is nothing to be concerned about.

I have no info, but I would assume the GTOs use a conical lug nut as well, so that shouldn't be a problem with your current lug nuts.

Re: Wheel fitment question...

my only concern would be the lug nit size, since the wheels are setup for the larger 14mm stubs, i wonder how well the 3rd gen 12mm stud and conical nut would seat? i wonder if there would be enough meat on the opening for the smaller nut to grab onto?

Re: Wheel fitment question...

If it was the opposite, 14mm lugs fitting into a 12mm hole, I could see an issue. But since they are smaller, I say they'll fit fine.

With conical seats, they should center up perfectly fine. I don't thin k there would be a lack of seat material to match up good.

Anybody have a GTO, or a friend/relative with one, who's willing to test this out?
