quick wheel spacer question

hey guys i for the hell of it bought a set of wheel spacers for my gta, i know they tear up wheel bearings and whatnot but im not too concerned about that, what i am concerned about is...

the amount of stud left for the wheel after i put them on... its pretty minimal, but the lug nuts spin about 4 times a piece until tight, you think this is enough room??? or am i running the chance of ripping the wheel off?? thanks

matt

Re: quick wheel spacer question

you mean a slip on spacer?

you want at least 1.5 times the width of the stud of thread engagement, thats 18mm, about 3/4". You dont seem to have nearly that much, so you have to get longer studs installed if you plan to use those spacers. They will shear if you leave them the way they are.

Re: quick wheel spacer question

Sound like the same size as the stock 3rd gen, aluminum drum equipped early 3rd gens came with. Perfectly safe, with stock length studs.

I had some OEM ones...Put them on just because I had them, when trying to make room for my 315s & once I got the room I needed, I was too lzy to pull the wheels off just to take the spacer out. So they are still on the car, under my 11" wheels & 315s.

Re: quick wheel spacer question

i have all wheel disks... its a gta... not sure if that is different from the camaros or whatnot, but i dont have a ton of stud left.. imean sticking out from the spacer.. none, but i have those dumb special lugs for cars with wheels with little lug holes, they work fine and tightened up fine, but i bet its only about 1/4in threaded on the stud.. what do you think?

Re: quick wheel spacer question

If that is all you have, I would look for longer wheel studs. Maybe ours are different for some reason (GTA, all discs for me too).
