Thinking of trying something new...
My 88 GTA has the standard tires on it right now, but they're going to need to be replaced VERY soon. I'm wondering whats the maximum anyone has tried on the back without them bulging too much. I believe I saw 295/50r16 BFGoodrich tires on a website and I wanted to put them on the back and put the standard 245/50r16 on the front. Has anyone tried it? Let me know what you guys think.

i had 275s on my rims. they were 7.5" or 8" im not sure but they bulged slightly but still looked good. i wouldn't use a 295 on any rim under 8.5".

I've got the stock rims, I dunno if that makes a difference to you, but they're in really good shape so I'm gonna keep those to keep the look of the car stock. You gotta have big back tires though. I tried tirerack and I couldn't find any 275.

try to find out exactly how wide the rims are. a 255 or 265 should be fine.

on tirerack it gives a range for rim widths the tire will fit "good" i guess you can say. if you go to the specs about the tire
