smaller tires in front?

i have 245/50/16s in the back, the factory size. i just got the car and the front tires were so worn that the steel was showing. the backs are still fine. i somehow for some reason ordered 225/50/16s from tirerack. i was thinking about returning them but idk how much shipping would cost. i would keep them on if they wouldnt cause any problems with the suspension or steering or anything. i know they may understeer a bit because they are skinnier, but if i leave them on will it cause any problems? also the gaps look a little big and silly in the front. but i can live with that. im not sure what to do at this point. any suggestions/comments? thanks

Re: smaller tires in front?

shouldn't have any issues. Many cars out there, and on this board use smaller front tires than rear. Im using 335/30/18's on the rear and 245/40/18 on the front.

these cars can be tail happy anyway, and a smaller tire in the front can help even things out a little.
