question about offset for wheels

ok i have my 87 GTA and finally decided to get some new wheels for it. i plan on getting American Racing's Outlaw II's in 16x8 so i can keep my same tires. but ive read that on the factory wheels the rear have a 16mm offset due to the rear axle being wider. if i were to order these wheels online or at a tire shop how would i go about getting them offset like that??

Re: question about offset for wheels

no, the rear is not wider, the rear wheels just had a different offset for other reasons.

if you order the 16x8. get 0 offset, or 4.5" of backspacing, front and rear. Will fit like a glove.
