GTA wheel question

I just picked up a set of gta wheels for my formula and i noticed the wheel lips on 2 of the rims are wider than the other two. my question is how do i determine which rims go on the front and which go on the back as the offset appears to be different and im worried about rubbing my fenders.

Any help would be appreciated

I don't think that the rims lip wouldnt make much different on the GTA. Only the offset of the rims.

If the lip is wider it would go in the rear.

Re: GTA wheel question

I have a 92 gta and the rims with the larger lip goes on the front to offset the wheels out more for handling purposes. It also keeps your tires from rubbing the car when the wheels are turned completely.

Re: GTA wheel question

If they are GTA crosslace wheels they should all be 16x8. But there should be 2 wheels that appear wider, than the other two. These wider wheels are supposed to go on the front of the car. If you put the skinnier looking ones in the front they will rub.

Wrong. As said below....The wider lip goes up front. And the lips are different widths, because of the different offset.

Just flip the wheels over & remove all doubt. You will find that they are marked FRONT & REAR, which removes all doubt.

Wrong. It would require a little work with a grinder up front.

Okay, my mistake so I had it the other way around.

The reason is because I was looking at the outer rim wider lip would be in the rear. Thanks for clearing that up.

breynolds thanks, but don't need to repeat. It already be said by the others.

Re: GTA wheel question

Rob's 92 and Bigbad are correct. The shallower offset (wider outside rim area) goes on the fornt to allow clearance for the strut mount. The deeper offset (narrower outside rim area) goes on the rear. PO of my car had put them on my GTA wrong and had added a 1/8 inch wheel spacer on the front to get the clearance back.
