New Tires - Stock Wheels
Looking for new tires for my '91 350 Z28. It still has the stock wheels.
What size can I fit on there? Any suggestions in particular?
Dry/wet driving, and it could get caught in the occasional light snow, though I want to avoid that if I can. No serious racing for me yet.
Thanks
EDIT: I'm aiming for ~$100/tire but I would go up to around $150.

15's or 16's?
Probably not the best tire, but it pleases me - I run the Khumo AST's 245/50/16 and at $80 a tire they are great!

16s. Those are the ones tirerack.com recommended. Sounds like a good choice then, thanks.

Go to sears, ask them about it. Their system will comeup with several options. The main reason I say Sears is nationwide warranty on all work done to the vehicle and, once you pay to have your tirerack tires mounted, balanced and get the car aligned, your paying about the same as you would if you get it done at Sears. But that's just me (and I know the techs at my Sears, all of us are car guys so I'd trust any one of them).

The best advice I can give anyone is to stay away from Kelly brand tires! I had a set of them they dry rotted in 3 years of use. It was so bad that the sidewalls had cracks half way through the rubber.
I use GoodYear Eagle HR 245/50/16 now. They only cost me $99 a tire from the dealer mounted and balanced.

I like and use the Kuhmo Escta AST 245/50/16 on all four corners. Installed and balanced for about 400 at a local tire shop. Good tire for the price.

Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals. Best tire I've ever had on my car. The Toyo Proxes(ZR1 or something they were called back then) I used to buy back in 1994 were good, but they had 180 treadwear and were shot within 6 months the way I drove. The Firestones are quite awesome, I highly recommend them.
