IIRC the early GTA wheels are a 2 peice design. If that's true and you could find a set of those, it should be easy. Would love to see if a 1 peice GTA wheel can be made 17" tho since they are still making them.

My set is of my old '86 T/A. They were the factory wheels. How would I tell they are indeed 2 pc?

No, they aren't 2 pieces. The only difference is those "dimples" at the ends of the crosslaces. The early ones (through 87) don't have then,

Good to know. Thanks for clarifing. Don't remember where I heard that, but I thought that was odd of a factory wheel when I did.

I've seen some with faux rivets/allen head bolts, but I think those were the 15" Fiero ones. Those have little slots at the end, where the dimple is.

Love the wheels. Great job. Also is that a Hawks rear spoiler?

actually the early 16" wheels, the ones without the dimples, are 2pc. if you look at the backside, they are welded together. looked at a set at Carlisle this year, and they were defiantly 2 pc wheels.

apparently, the Grand National wheels are the same way.

I was more referring to wheels that can actually be taken apart. Our crosslaces were borrowed from the Buicks. They had crosslaces starting in 85 (i think, maybe 86).

Thats correct, they cont come apart, "2pc" wheels are simple wheels that start life as a center and a hoop, them are welded together. 3pc wheels, bolt together and can be take apart. I dont think they make 2pc bolted together wheels, but io could be wrong.

This is badass. IROC wheels be any different from the 91-92 Z28 rims?

Since I had my rear 2 wheels widened, does that qualify them as 2-pc wheels now? http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o...P7170061-1.jpg

they are 2 pieces, but are not the same as the traditional "2pc wheels", but you can call them whatever you want.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but where can I find some 17" hoops? Searching is turning up no results.
