What size winter tire for stock 16" iroc rims?

Hey guys,

I am in an unfortunate situation where I have to drive my IROC through this winter....(flipped over my winter beater on the highway tonight, 92 Civic SI. I'm glad I only paid $600 for it).

The IROC is rustproofed, and I have sand bags in the trunk, just need some rubber. Nowhere around here carries winter tires in the 245/50R/16 size, and a guy at Tireworld told me that winter tires aren't even made in that size.

So could you direct me to another tire size that would fit my stock 16" IROC rims? (16"x8"). Would 225/55/16 work?

Or maybe you could pick me the best size off this site

Thanks a lot

Yes, the 225/55/16 will work for your Iroc rims, but I would recomand you get steel rims in either 14" or 15" with narrow width and higher aspect ratio tires.

If you are looking for wheels. I have BMW winter steel 15" wheels for sale with winter tires on it. May need to get new winter tires. It might be good for another year. I had it on my Iroc using spacer disk up front. I can include the spacer with the wheels if you are interesting?

Good luck.

A 225/55/16 winter tire will work better then the 245/50/16 and the IROC wheels will be fine.
