The real problem is starting a thread and putting 'haters hate on' as the first comment. OP do you really have nothing better to do than start fights on the Internet? Your poor attitude and everyone else's here makes us all look bad for owning/driving thirdgens.
Big rims when done tastefully look fine, we don't need to bring social classes into someone's personal choice.

Re: 22" wheels on a slammed 91 Z28........
Looks like the rear tires are gonna play hell on the rear quarter panels. I've had the same thing happen on my 92' and eventually sold the wheels and went back stock. A quick question did you take into consideration the backspacing on the rear vs. front. There is a difference ! The stance of the car is awesome but like many have said not a fan of the BIG wheels but it is your car and to each his own.

I would. 5th gen Camaros originated from a COMIC BOOK! Comics. Cartoons. Clowns. Clown cars. Clown rims.

[QUOTE=Sickness91Z28;5047703]I feel that if your suspension is set up for it & the style of wheel is descent....it's possible to make a 22" wheel look "okay" on a thirdgen. I'm running 19"/20" on mine. If I didn't add the air ride....I would honestly hate it....it looks out of proportion and stupid. But...when I set it at ride height or slam it to the ground..it makes up for it..giving it a completely different look.
If I showed my car like this at a show...I'm sure 95% of people would think it looks completely retarded:
But if it's seen like this....it doesn't even look like the same car.:
Sickness, are you able to drive your car around with it looking slammed (like in the 2nd pic?). If not, at what height does your car get driven at?

Re: 22" wheels on a slammed 91 Z28........
I had a set of 18's with real low profile rubber. I am extremely careful and I ended up with 3 out of the 4 rims bent. As I remember they were a 35 profile. That's my only problem with thin rubber, they bend even if your careful. Of course the real problem I would have with 22's is they cost a fortune when it's time to replace the tires.

A) he got lucky, because thirdgens arent meant to have 22's
B) his is lowered so if his works and yours doesnt then i wouldnt even bother. theres not much you can change in the front that will allow this to work if it doesnt already. theres nothing you can cut out of the way unless you feel like replacing structurability with some guady imporoperly sized rims

I guess my point is...
If you pick a larger wheel...set the suspenion up accordingly. It REALLY makes a huge difference
Anyhow, this thread will probably get locked so my statements or opinions really do not even matter

No lift. It was lowered 2+ inches. Tire sizes are in the OP. 245/35-22 to fit and not rub obnoxiously.
265/35-22 is waaay to tall.

Oh NO not AGAIN!
Look guys, I'm sorry the niche crowd of big wheels fans just can't see it, but showing off your camaro with BIG wheels is like getting together with your buddies and everyone bragging about how their date has the SMALLEST ****. It just doesn't make sense, looks unattractive and is the complete OPPOSITE of what you should be going for.
In either instance, the ride won't be as pleasurable either

Actually doesn't look that bad bigger wheels on a slammed camaro looks sick but when you lift a thirdgen to put bigger wheels you should of got a truck and I'm going to hate on that but to each there own also wheel design and style can make a break the setup I was comtemplating 20in diamond blaque dust 2.0 but performance reasons stick with 18in if I get another thirdgen just for cruising I'll try some 20in wheels lol

Sagging your pants is one thing, but forcing your car to do it when your car can't say no?
That's just disgustingly cruel.

'm getting a set 18" IROC replicas in a couple of weeks ,that is as big as I'm comfortable with. There is an IROC convertible at a local with 20" rims and I think they look terrible on our cars so I guess I would be on the Haters side on these.

Don't pay any of these experts any attention. Id say they should be calling and blogging on chip foose for the "dumb look" he's been doing to slam 60 year old cars with huge wheels.

Why bring back a FOUR year old thread? Most of these kids have grown up and pulled up their pants. The cars; well let's just say they are probably in the junkyards where they belong. Or the police impound hehe.
