Can I still use these?

I'm supposed to be picking up a couple BFG Drag Radials in the morning. They have no visible tread left and I was wondering if they should still be ok to drive on?

Keep in mind my car is still in the early project stages even (after a few years) and I only drive it about 100 miles a year in the summer. I just wanted a wider looking tire in the rear for looks.

Idk if I am understanding your question right but why would you be getting a set of completely warn out tires just for looks? Yea, They may be bigger, but a worn out BFG DR is still a worn out tire. If I saw someone pull up to a show or meet with them I would certainly ask them what they were thinking.

Sure they might get you from A-B if its a short distance but they will have no wet weather traction, you can not burn them up and get them sticky, because they may blow. The geometry of the tire may become deformed if you ride on them more than a few times. They can bubble, split, tear, separate you never know.

IMO its not a good idea, scrap them they are no good for the purpose they where made for anyway. Save up for a new set or search for a better used set. People are constantly upgrading to new track tires, I'm sure you can find something better than a completely worn out drag radial.

PS. I hope you are not paying for these.

if they are bald, they are bald, you can use them to mockup, or push the car around the driveway/garage, but i wouldnt drive on them.

Alright, thanks guys. I just called the guy and told him I'm not taking them. They were cheap and came with a couple Camaro rims I was going to sell so basically I'd break even, that's why I was considering it.

What kind of Camaro wheels? If they are a set of early Irocs that you can make nice of, you may be able to make a few dollars.

They're the "salad shooter" style. I told the guy I wasn't taking them already unfortunatly.
