17x8.5" c6 wheels

I was thinking about getting these (in the title) for my iroc. I have a couple questions.
1) would 245/45 17's be too small?
2) they have +58mm (7.03) offset from what i have read i will need 2" spacer correct?

Thanks

Are these aftermarket, cause OEM C6 wheels are 18" & 19" sizes. Later.

Re: 17x8.5" c6 wheels

MT recommends a 205/40/17 for a 7.5" wheel, 295/45/17 for a 10" wheel, and a 245/40/18 for an 8.5" wheel. Despite that 1" diamter difference, I'm sure from those measurements, you know that a 245 is pretty optimal for an 8.5" wheel.

On the Slowstang I have 18X9s up front on 265s, 285s out back on an 18X10 wheel. Basically rule of thumb for most car wheels that measure around 26" tall, 25-35MM of tire width per 1" is ideal. 25 per 1" would be on the skinny side, 35MM of width per 1" would be ideal for someone who wants a little bit of that sidewall bulge look, either for the look, or to protect the wheels from some curb rash.

My 285s on the Slowstang obviously measure 28.5MM per 1" of wheel, and they're almost too skinny looking. Should have gone 295s, 305s and 315s would fit, but be a bit big.

Either way, good choice on wheels. The C6 wheels are a nice simple, clean design.

Thanks guys... yeah the ones i was looking were aftermarket ones. So that confirms that the tires will fit... can anyone confirm about the spacers?

Thanks,
