15x8 Prostars w/ 5.5 backspacing needs spacers?
15x8 Prostars w/ 5.5 backspacing needs spacers?
I just put them on and it looks like I needed to put spacers on, so I did. I don't recall ever reading this was needed. Does this sound right? Just want to make sure my wheels don't fly off while racing!

why do you need spacers? if they are touching the body, clearance the body. some hammering is very normal.
FWIW, 8" wheels are generall 4.5" of BS

I think it was the tip of the inner wheel well that was touching it. It is fine with the spacer, but it didn't feel fine w/out it.

Yep, most 8" wheels are 4.5 on thirdgens. I run 5.5" backspacing on my 15x8's but I run a 4th gen rear thats wider by 1.75" or so each side.
