I have a set of chrome IROC Z-28 wheels I bought off of a guy on Ebay. They are in excellent shape except for the two that I would guess where on the front. They have what appears to have spots of brake dust grime on them along with other spots/stains which I'm guessing to be hard water spots maybe even tire shine overspray. I've tried scrubbing with car wash and hot water along with trying to wax them out with standard car wax. None of that seems to work. Is there a better way to get this grit spots and water stains out and in the process shine them back up since they are now somewhat dull?

 

When I still had chrome rims [painted em black] I use CLR or other bathroom stuff that is chrome safe. SInce its designed to super clean but not harm it.

I use Noxon 7 on our Colorado's 20's. Harley guys use it- stinks to high heaven. Use in a WELL ventilated area! Done it by hand, and with a drill. Made our 20's look better than the day I bought them (Used). It will remove caked on brake dust, rust, dull spots, etc.

Only place I found that carries it is Ace Hardware- down the cleaning aisle.
