Re: need help with prostar wheels

Will a 5.5 backspacing all around be good ? Or is it to much? Will i need some sort of spacers?

neutral backspace on these cars. 15x8 4.5 backspace i run a 15x10 5.5 backspace depending on the tire you run you may need to do some inner fender mods.. im running 295-65 hoosier drs.

Re: need help with prostar wheels

15x8 with 5.5bs or 15x10 with 7.5 bs on the rear, then a nice m/t drag radial, perhaps a 275/50 or 275/60 if you want a taller tire

for the front I'd rock out a 15x5 with a 195ish tire up there. Unless you want to run a big front tire, but then pro stars don't look right. Needs the big/little look, otherwise check out some other designs, the price of 17" rims has really dropped as well if you're just going for looks not added traction

With the 4th gen rear and 15x10 wheels, what tire size would work well without rubbing? Im guessing the wider wheel will cause the tires to stick out past the fenders which would limit the diameter.

I heard with the 8" wheel you could still mount up to a 10.5" slick. Shouldnt that be plenty for most street/strip cars? If so can you recommend a tire size?

I am wanting to find a tire/wheel combination I can take with me to the track and slap them on. I have always liked the prostars if I could find a set cheap enough. If not atleast I will have a wheel size and tire size to look for.

Re: need help with prostar wheels

at your power level a 26x10 ET drag stiff sidewall would be a good choice. You might need to roll the quarter panel lip and beat the front inner lower wheelwell a little, depends how much room you have. I'd run the 10" rim, it'll flatten out the tread of the tire and work better overall and be more stable than a narrower rim.

Re: need help with prostar wheels

The 15x8 with 5.5 backspacing seems ok for me . I just dnt want the wheels to sick out the fenders with my 4th gen rear end. This shouldnt happen right? And what backspacing for the front wheels? 15x5 is good but what backspacing?

Re: need help with prostar wheels

wheels won't stick out any further with the 10" rims, but the tires will sit flatter for the tread area. I wouldn't run a 26x10 slick on a 8" rim either, it'll bulge out pretty bad. Any backspacing is fine for the front, since stock is 4.5"

Re: need help with prostar wheels

I could only find 15x4 with a 1.75 backspacing. Will this be good or will i have any problems? Im just really worried about the rear i dnt want the tires to stick out to much cuz of my 4th gen rear end . My stock 91 rims stick out and idnt really like the look so hopefully this doesnt happen. If i run the rears with a 15x10 will they run anywhere? Either the inside or out? Just trying to get this right before i place my order. Im going with summits warrior rt wheels

Re: need help with prostar wheels

fronts are fine, i think i ran a little more backspacing but that won't be an issue for ya. The rears might need some clearancing to fit. Depends car to car just get 7.5bs with a 4th gen rear. If it has ls1 brakes you will have to grind a ton off the calipers to make them fit. Lt1 brakes need a little less grinding, but still need it. Brakes are just that big.
