ROH guys... small question for you
I bought these 3 years ago cheap thinking I could find a center cap for them.

I've given up on the centercap. Painted them because I repaired a couple of really nasty curb spots. I have 4 rings and 3 centercaps... oh so close. But I just cant find the little buggers anywhere. I saw ONE on ebay 6 months ago that was gold lettering instead of silver and he wanted $75 shipped for it, figured I'd wait for one that was the right color - mistake.
Regardless, I think Im going to use these as cheap autocross wheels and put some tires on em.
The question I have... ROH made wheels specifically for our cars from what I understand. it doesnt need any spacers. But....
1. Do they use stock style acorn lug nuts? Or do I need another type?
2. Do I need hub-centric rings? Or are these already sized to properly fit our hubs?
I figure these should be the same as the ROH snypers and ZS etc wheels. I dont know why they'd make these any differently.

I'm running the DriftR, and they are perfect hub fit, and still use the standard conical seat lugnut. I'm sure that yours are too. What style is that ROH wheel you have? I can't picture the center cap... its not a press in style like these??? small oring to hold it in?

Re: ROH guys... small question for you
First of all thanks a bunch for the info, that's good to know.
As for the rest of it, they're ROH ZR6 wheels. They made a lot of small different variations for different cars. Some used a screw-in centercap, like the Steeda mustangs:

This is what a set of ZR6 wheels look like normally:

This is how they're made... there is an outer donut ring (the steeda type above had threads in the back the size of the center hub opening and then a wide flange that sits flush with the face of the wheel.) that's held in by a set screw. Then a 3.5 inch centercap snaps into it. The stock 91-92 centercaps are close but too big. I dont think there's any practical way that would look good to make them fit... plus they're like $80 for a good set of four of em... I cant bring myself to hack em apart.
The donut ring:

And here it is with the snap in centercap:

The center bore is threaded, and right at 2.25ish inches... plus or minus a 16th of an inch or so. The centercap itself is 3.5 inches, and that's the ID of the donut-ring. And I found a lot of 3.5 inch snap-in centercaps online, but they're mostly all for rare, expensive wheels that wont look right, or truck wheels and are 3-4 inches tall in addition to being 3.5 inches wide.
I love these wheels and their look, but the centercap thing made me just relegate them to autoX duty. I spent $100 on em so they're priced right for the job. Some curb rash work and some rattle can wheel paint and I think they'll make good wheels for teh track. But I've about given up on making these really nice looking daily driving wheels.

Re: ROH guys... small question for you
I think I would try and turned down a flat aluminum cap, and use a recessed allen head to a theaded hole in-between one of the lug holes to secure the cap... similar to the original style, but since its just a flat section of aluminum cut to ID should be pretty cheap?
I like the look of the wheel, and honestly doesn't look all that bad with the centers exposed.

Re: ROH guys... small question for you
I have 8 of the 3rd gen fit fitting Snypers (none for sale) & the center caps fit in from the backside & are held in with a "u-shaped" snap ring that fits into a groove. Nobody can steal my center caps without taking the whole wheel off.
They use the stock lug nuts & no hub-centric extra pieces are needed. Just bolt them on & go.

Re: ROH guys... small question for you
Well, for what I paid, to have some 17 inch track wheels is more than worth it, regardless of how bad they do or dont look without the centercaps. I will hopefully find one eventually.
