what are these firebird rims worth? what is the style of rim called? the clear coat is peeling slightly on all of them, but it's just in little places.

on the back side they say they are made in germany and they are front and rear specific

 

Convex 20 slots wheels. Worth what you can get for them. The crosslaces are much more.popular and go for the most money of the factory wheels. These are unique to a single year iirc, but still not very valuable

 

I had those on my '87 Formula and I'm pretty sure that was the only year formy that they came on. Consequently I love those wheels and disslike all the other Formula wheels. I think they came on 84-86 Trans Ams in varying colors (charcoal inserts, gold inserts, white all over, etc).

No idea what they're worth, though!

 

I also have a set in similar condition. In their present condition, I was considering $350-$400 for the complete set. As I wouldn't want to gouge any Firebird enthusiast, I think a $100 a rim is fair value. From my research, these don't seem to be all that readily available and rims without any curb scars will have a higher value. I believe they could be also refinished to new appearance for under $200 and then a new owner would have OEM wheels specific to their breed for $600, less money than most sought after aftermarket wheels and to those who wish their cars to remain true to form, these are destined to be sought after.
I always kind of wondered what they would look like as a high polished set too and thought they might look cool that way on my car. The one's I have were taken from a 1985 Blue and silver Trans Am when I purchased them used for second set of rubbers.
I could be swayed to bring them to Crete IL Thirdgen fest 2012 if anyone is interested.

 

Unfortunately, they are worth much. We usually sell decent sets for $125-$150 per set and they don't even sell fast at that price. They were first used on the '84 15th Anniversary Trans Am and then were used from 85-88.
