spacers with stock wheels?
alright so im just looking to get a wider stance for the time being..going to eventually get new wheels but for now...
is it okay to run spacers on the stock wheels? say, 1.5" in front and 2" rear?
i dont see why it would matter but i want to make sure im not missing anything

Re: spacers with stock wheels?
They will bolt together like any other wheels and.spacer, but will that much extra width work? Your wheels.will be outside the wheel well and at your height, that would be a more serious problem than usual..

It'll be close, I think 2" adapter would reduce your offset too much. Make sure you measure your clearances beforehand.

You'll have to do a really good fender roll too. And take into account how much suspension movement you have on your compression stroke. What is the exact offsets for your wheels? I could do a few calculations to see how flush you'll be.

Even 1.5" spacers for the front wheels is pushing it. I compared the stock front GTA wheels (16x8 +0) to my SS wheels (17x9 -1). My SS wheels are completely flush with the fender lips with my 285 tires. I had to do a bit of a fender roll to prevent rubbing even with -1.5* of camber. Although I've heard that Nitto's tend to run narrow.

I think it will look pretty stupid, but you didn't ask my opinion so I will just say that at less than 1.5 inches you'll have a hard time finding adapters. And you you dont want to go past .5 inches for spacers, so if you want the tarantula look then you're in luck. If you want something more reasonable, you'll want to stick with small spacers.

Re: spacers with stock wheels?
How much camber are you running? If you can find them I'd say get 3/4" adapters (20mm) for the front. And yes, they do exist. I'm running 20mm adapters on my GTI so I can run Corvette Salad Shooters.
And since the rear wheels have a +16 offset you would need 36mm (1.4") adapters to match the fronts, but that's an oddball size that nobody makes. I would get 1.25" adapters to be safe and maybe throw a small slip on spacer to dial in the fitment.
This is a 16x8 with an effective offset of -20mm

pretty much exactly where my SS wheels sat.

I actually have a set of GTA wheels as well. I could throw those on and take some pics to show you what they would look like with 2" spacers.

Re: spacers with stock wheels?
Alright I snapped a few pictures with GTA wheels on my car. Now I need to ask. Are you running the wheels in their correct positions (fronts up front and rear out back)?
This is what the 16x8 +0 (fronts) look like on front and rear with 2" spacers

Re: spacers with stock wheels?
The first pair of pics has a front wheel installed on the front and rear. The second pair of pics features a rear wheel on both front and rear. I did that because it's pretty popular for people to run the rear wheels up front with a spacer and put the front wheels out back, in order to have the bigger lip in the rear. Here's an pic of the whole car.

Re: spacers with stock wheels?
Personally I think .75" and 1" rear. If its not wide enough you can still throw a small, cheap, slip on spacer to dial it in to where you want it.
