Could this be because of a to high tire pressure?

I took my 86 TA to a full restoration few years ago. I havent used it much since but last year when I was driving it it was shaking a lot. The TA has 275/40ZR17 Kumho tires on Ronal R15. The tire shop did put 35 psi in the tires.

When I took my TA out this spring the tire pressure was around 27 psi. The car feels totally different, the shaking has stopped and its more fun to drive

Could it be that 27 psi is close to optimal tire pressure for those tires on a 3rd gen?

I don't think going from 27 to 35 psi would cause the shaking to go away. But if the car had been sitting a long time the tires could have developed a flat spot where its sitting against the ground..especially when its cold out. As you drive the car the flat spots will work themselves out just takes awhile especially in cold temps.

What I was meaning was that a to high pressure makes everything to hard and the car shakes more. It could also be because of flat spots. At least I think that 35 psi is to high

Its not the tire pressure. More likely flat spots but it could be anything. 27psi is to low. I have run 40psi in an old set of Michelins that liked the extra pressure.

I have 18's. And even if it sit's for 2 weeks, It takes about 10 miles to round out the flat spot's depending on the road temp. I also run 40 lbs, max is 44. That's the nature of low profile tire's especially if they are a little older and harder.

I will try again to use higher pressure, I will probably try to find out the correct pressure by looking at the contact area
