Yes, they'll fit fine. I've run them before & several people are running them now. But by giong wider you may want to step down in size on the aspect ratio, to keep the overall diameter equal & keep things like the speedo reading correctly.

Staying with the 50 series the difference is less than 1mph at 60. Stepping down to a 45 if available you lose almost 2 mph. I'd stay with the taller tires myself.

I had 255 50 16s on my IROC for a while. Speedo was still close, and there was no tire rub. However, I felt that the taller sidewalls looked goofy, and I've since gone back to a 245. The tread width difference was negligible. Most designs that I've seen actually use the same block patterns, but gain the extra track width in the groove area instead of the actual contact area. Based on that, the slightly better handling gain due to the shorter sidewall, and my preference for the appearance, I don't regret going back to the 245.

I run 245/50r16 bfg g-force kdw up front and just replaced my 255/50r16 bfg drag radials with 255/50r16 bfg sport comp 2's. I really like the ever so slightly bigger rear tires. Speedo is already off cause of the rear gear ratio.

Will 255/50/r16s fit on my stock 91-92 z28 wheels?-2012-07-13-11.26.24

Here is a pic. 255/50r16 BFG sport comp 2 on rear. Suspension is completely stock, Drum brakes on 3rd gen rear, factory spacers (1/4" i think).
