I have no clue how to determine what size/type/ etc etc.. tires-wheels I should put on my car..

I have just finished the build on a 383 stroker, approx 480hp, and approx 525 torque. Using a Tremec TKO-600, still in the process of choosing my gear ratio but i am most likely going with a Ford 9" 3.89 rear. This is all going into my 1987 IROC-Z. I would like to keep the stock rims, but I have no idea how to go about tire size in relation to performance with the rear, etc..

Any info is much appreciated!

If you have the money I'd go with 17x9.5 wheels with a 275 40 17 tire. That is a common upgrade, plenty of tire options in that size, and keeps the same tire height as a stock 245 50 16 tire.
