A little help

My son just got a great deal on a set of 15" Centerline Warrior rims. He has a 91 RS that has 245/50/16 on them now. We were thinking about running 275-60-15 on rear and 215-70-15 on the fronts. Rims are 7" and 8.5". Any suggestions on this combo? Thanks

You will lose a good amount of braking and handling going from a 245-50-16 tire to a 15" combo.

But you can run a 225-60-15 tire on a 7" wheel and a 245-55-15 tire on a 8.5" wheel. 275 is going to be too wide for a 8.5" wheel - it really needs a 9.5" one

Re: A little help

I agree with paul for the front, a wider tires will be better. For the reat the 275 will be fine since the wheels are 15's and have a lot of sidewall.

I would honestly keep the 16's and not go down to the 15's. And the warriors are steel wheels too aren't they? If so that's a bit of a step backwards

Re: A little help

The warriors are alumium. My son (who's 17) wants something diffent then everyone else. He's not racing it just a daily driver. I see 84 Z28 runs the same tire sizes but on weld rims. He likes the look.

Thanks

Re: A little help

He actually should be able to run a 255/60R15 on the rear since an 8" rim can fit a 245/60R16
