Need new Track wheels 17 or 18

My track tires are worn out and i've been thinking about getting a larger set of wheels- i like the look of the vette wheels, but it would be nice to get wheels that don't require spacers- Such as the ROH zs rims. For track wheels, i don't need anything quite as shiney or expensive as new ROH rims. Are there other options out there that fit our cars in 17's or 18's? Thanks

Check out CTW Motorsports wheels. 17" x 9.5" and need no spacers to fit - strong and light too!

In my opinion, the CTW wheels seem to suit your needs. Lightweight 17x9.5 with no spacers required and at a fair price with great brake clearance.

EDIT: Paul beat me to it.

There's aren't really any quality wheels that will be cheaper than that especially in those sizes with the exception of replicas or knock-offs. Wheels and tires cost a lot of money. That's just a fact that people need to realize.

I hear ya! those wheels may end up being the best deal- i've just started searching. i got a set of aluminum rims for our chevy cruze for winter tires from the tire rack last week- they were about 100 bucks each. Good looking wheels too. probably made in china

They are actually $1,125 plus shipping for a set:

Be wary of cheap knockoff wheels - many of them are not DOT tested or compliant and may be prone to failure than ones that passed the tests.

275-40-17 tires start at about $120 each and there are a lot of excellent summer tires in the $170 to $190 range.

Keep in mind, since those wheels don't need spacers, that's about 200 bux or more for good 2" spacers for your typical vette wheel, and another set of lugnuts you don't need to buy.

Other option would be to try and fine a set of ronal r15's, but they will likely cost more and are a few pounds heavier.

Brake clearance was mentioned, those ctw wheels clear my 14" baer 6 piston brake kit. So if you plan a brake upgrade, there will be little that won't fit.

yeah i like the look of the vette wheels, but the spacers make me alittle queazy...this car rarely gets "cruised around"....mostly just track days...pedal to the metal, as fast as it will go! so i'll probably just get a set of these.

Phil is 100% correct on all points - although from what I have heard, the R15's don't have as much brake clearance as the CTW wheels and supposedly won't fit C5 brakes without spacers. They look nice though...

That's because you don't look hard enough. If you don't race at all, you can get buy with used tires that are dirt cheap. I am going the used corvette rims route with wheel adapters for the track and I'm not worried about it. My rims were dirt cheap also, only 200 bucks. You can't beat that.

Oh, and some wheel adapters will come with lug nuts.
