zq8 center cap question

i just spent some time refinishing my 15" z28 wheels from what i understand the 15" z28 wheels are the same back space all around. now my question is has anyone tried the zq8 center caps on this wheel? somewhere on the net i found a pic of them on there and for the life of me i cant find it now. theses centers are not cheap i would rather not buy them just to find out they don't work.help please

Re: zq8 center cap question

I am also curious if there is a trick to this. I have the center caps with the rimmed lug nut caps but it would appear my lug nuts (which are factory 1999 4x4 blazer acorns) are not quite long enough for the lug nut cap to bite onto the threads on the lug nut. Are there certain lug nuts you need or am I just missing something.

Re: zq8 center cap question

I used the stock Camaro lug nuts that have the external threads.on the back side of your center caps you will see small tabs that hold the cap off the surface of the wheel I cut those off after that they will sit close enough to the wheel to allow the black caps to screw onto your lugnuts

There are thread-on nut covers that have different height retaining washers for holding the center cap on. I had the opposite problem as you and added wiring grommets as spacers. You might be able to remove ghe pedestals like mentioned above. Or you might want to shop the SLP nut /cover sets. They are too high for.the 16" wheel zq8 stuff and might work for you.
