18's

wanting to put 18's on my 91 convertible. I lowered it about an inch or so. I am looking on ebay I am just not sure what to order. between back space/offset then there hub it is just way to confusing.

I can get new camaro rims and tires pretty cheep but what does it take to make them fit.

Re: 18's

Choose wheels with a 5 lug pattern, on a 4.75" bolt circle. That's 120.65 mm. Choose something with a zero offset, in a width range of 8"-9.5". That's a fairly safe start for a stock third-gen. No adapters needed. I'd want 9.5s front and rear if they fit the budget. Probably look at 275/35 tires.

Re: 18's

Thanks man. So I need between 8" and 9.5" wide with a zero offset? I have 245/40's and 275/35's allready should I get two different widths? I am going to upgrade my brakes too. I want them to fit perfect and not rub.

Some installers might be able to stretch those 245s onto 9.5s, and you could probably get both sizes onto 9s, but a 275 is supposed to be 1.2" wider than a 245. I'd just sell the 245s.
Different big brake conversions will move the wheels out a few mm, but 18" wheels should easily clear most 13" kits.

Re: 18's

which one of these souns better? They sound th same to me,
Boss 18's 8" i frn and 9.5"in rear
fronts +2mm w/ 4 1/2" backspacing
rears -4mm w/5 backspacing

Ridler's 18"/ 8" in front and 9.5" in rear
fronts 0mm w/4 1/2" backspacing
rear +6mm w/5 1/2" backspacing

Boss rims I've seen but have never seen Ridler's. Any recomendations? The Ridlers are almost $100 cheeper.

Re: 18's

I have the boss 338's that you are looking at and your exhisting tires will work perfect on the the 18X8 (front) and 18X9.5 (rear) They will fit on your car with NO modifications to your car. I think I paid like $630 for my wheels shipped on ebay.

Re: 18's

Nice car. Good pics. Yea the Boss's are $711 shipped and the Ridler's are $630 shipped. They both have prettymuch the same specs. The Ridlers are made over seas and have a machined lip rather then polished like the Boss.
I think I may save a buck and get the Ridler's What due all you think? I have no chrom on my car what ever so I thinking the machined edge will fit better. They both have the same warrentee.
I am leaving this up to the masses.

Re: 18's

Well I figured out how to post pics. Here is my car with the new 18's but little brakes. I have new ones to go on just waiting till summers over. I ran across a smoking deal on a brand new Mooser rear end with Wilwood brakes. It is going to look smoking.

Great info brother!! That's exactly what I needed was the math. Now all I have to do is enroll in a respectable 4 year university, become a mathematics major, then I can do the math to install a new set of wheels! Nawh but seriously good info.
