1984 Trans Am OEM tire size??

Hey guys! I just bought an 84 Trans Am yesterday and am just starting to go through it and get started on restoring things here and there. The car had new tires put on in 2003 and it's basically been sitting in a garage since then. On my ride home it was very bumpy so I'm guessing there are flat spots on the tires for sitting so long. My question is the tires on there now are 235 60 14's but from what I've read, it looks like the OEM size was 205. I'd like to stick with OEM, so if someone can confirm the correct OEM size, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Ben

Here's a pic of the wheels on there now which look OEM to me.

I May Be Wrong But I Think 1984 Trans Am's Came With This Style Wheel With The Same Tire As The 1984 Z28's P215/65R-15.

The data tag on the door of my '84 T/A says P205/70R14, but both 15" and 16" wheels were available as options. I 'm running 235/60R15's and as soon as I can find a set of 16" 20 spoke OEM rims, I'm going for the P245/50VR16 that were an option in '84. https://www.thirdgen.org/1984-pontiac-firebird

Thanks for the responses. Mine are 14 in wheels so it looks like the 205 70 14's were the stock tire sizes.

Re: 1984 Trans Am OEM tire size??

Unless you’re going for a complete restoration I can not understand why someone would put such a thin tire on the rear of a Camaro or Trans Am even if it is a stock size but if that's the way you want it than here’s a few to chose from in205/70r14 =

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=205%2F&ratio=70&diameter=14

The wheels and tires play a major role in the way a car is perceived. Wimpy tires will look terrible on the rear of a TRANS AM. Sorry but IMO that is way too thin for the rear.

This is not a bad combination for a staggered look still keeping the front and rear tires about the same size.= 235/60R14 front with 245/60r14 rear. There seems to be only one tire that I can find in those sizes = http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...60&diameter=14 and http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...60&diameter=14 So it would be BFGoodrich all the way around.(you can mount that tire white letters out or what I prefer the black side out.)
I have 235/60r15s front and 255/60r15s rear in Cooper Cobras.
Heres what that looks like and would be close to my suggestion. Yours will set lower and tuck in much better than mine.=
