Snow tires
I live in Washington Statez and am going to be crossing this wintery state in my rough and ready 91 Camaro RS. I was curious as to what I can do to manage the snowy mountain passes better. As an off the wall idea, would super deep treaded mud tires for a truck work, but in 15 inch rim size?

Re: Snow tires
My son runs Hankook W409's on his '87 during the winter. Swears he could drive up a glass wall with them. Has put a lot of snow miles on them.

Re: Snow tires
I drove thirdgens through many rural Vermont (read: lots of snow and hills) and Rochester NY (read: Daily lake effect snow) winters. The key is a combination of good snow tires, and weight in the trunk. I would add about 100lbs in the well, and that, combined with good snow tires, made the car nearly invincible. I frequently drove around stuck FWD drivers with (presumably) inadequate tires/skills.
