Road salt on rims?
I just bought a set of American Racing polished Torq Thrust II's and live in illinois. I was just wondering if road salt does anything to these rims and if i should throw my stock ones back on for the season.
Thanks

Re: Road salt on rims?
I've never seen a wheel that road salt doesn't affect. Even coated/painted ones, because all it takes is one small chip in the paint/clear and the salt has an "in".

Get some of those Cragar Soft 8s for the winter. Heavy but cheap and it's not a big deal if they get rusty. Actually, if you have 15 inch factory wheels and can fit them, I'd use those.

You are worried about your wheels. How about the rest of the car? Salt spray gets in EVERYWHERE and will ruin your car with 100% certainty.

salt will effect everything, just keep it waxed and as clean as you can you will be alright.
