Decided to start your own thread. Smart move but my reply is also on the other thread. Here it is again.
Have they been mounted to the wheel yet? If so they are most likely not returnable so do not mount them yet if not.
I have seen them once on a 15x8 with 3 3/4 back spacing wheel. They did not rub but that's a miracle because the tread was 3/4 out past the flair and the bulge was 1 1/4 out past at its widest point. Your 8in 4.50 bs will tuck the tread in 3/4in. more.
That would put the tread right on the edge of the flare not inside it. The one I saw was ballooning pretty bad and
a 295/50R15 tire should be mounted on at least a 10in. wheel with the proper BS. Even then the well might need some massaging/alterations.
If you decide to send them back the next tire size down would be the 75/60r15s that are a 28in. tall tire. They will fit but they will give the it the look of a car that sees the track allot.
Then there’s the 255/60r15s that are 27in tall and I believe is the perfect size rear tire for a 15x8 wheel on a primarily used street car.

No they are not mounted to the wheel yet. but wouldent 3 3/4 b.s. stick out farther then 4.5 b.s. the 3 3/4 would have a negative o.s. wouldent it
