98 z28 rims/spacers question
I've done a lot of searching and the general statement is 2" spacers at all four corners. Then I read 2.25 on the front and 1.25 on the rear. The rims are 16x8 with 55mm offset. I was thinking about getting 2" spacers on all four, but before I spend the money what is the final answer?

Did you buy the wheels yet? I ask because of the lack of suitable tires to fit 16" wheels these days - would suggest you go for 4th gen 17" wheels if possible.

To give ya an idea on 17's..I run 17x9 (9.5) SS rims. with a 1.75" adapter with C5 Vette brakes. So basically that would be 2.05" adapter over stock. Basically flush and perfect fitment on the fronts. Rear I run a 4th gen rear end.

I run wheels with the same offset as you have. I have 2.25" spacers on the front and 2.00" spacers on the rear. They fit flush to the edge of the fenders. Anything smaller than 2.25" on the front of my car and they would rub some suspension pieces. YMMV.

My ZR1's need a 2.25 inch adapter in the front. I have an LS1 brake setup, so the LS1 rotor actually functions as a .300 inch spacer. So I use a 2 inch adapter. But man is it CLOSE to hitting the top of the strut and the tie rod. 17x9.5 is REAL close.
16x8 shouldnt cut that close because it's only 8 inches wide. But 16 inch wheels for performance cars are dying out.
