Wheel Offset Limitations

New to Camaro's and GM in general picked up my uncles 91 Camaro with a 350 swap in it, well entire drivetrain from an IROC in it.

But coming from the import car world... Tons of options with wheels and offsets but specific per car.

I know that I can fit 17x9.5 4th gen wheels with spacers behind them and the offset is +58? I think... around there

But what If I wanted more say... forged aftermarket wheels like what I know in terms of enkei's, rays, volk, ect...

What should I veer away from in terms of offsets... I plan on running street, track and drag wheels. Currently just focused on street wheels at the moment.

I know OEM is usually the way to go but most of the c6 wheels are too large for the cars in terms I don't like the way 18's look... but like some of the styles... '

Any help is appreciated.

I'd like to know this as well. I was looking at a 19" wheel specifically the Niche Targa T14 or the Niche Zen T26's. 9" wide up front and 10.5" in the rears. I want the deepest con cavity offset possible especially for the rears. Would these work? And if so what offsets should I be looking at? I'm terrible at math and tried to figure it out myself based off the sticky thread but I confuse myself to be honest. Thanks!

Re: Wheel Offset Limitations

To the OP, I believe that the most critical measurement for wheel fitment is backspacing (the distance from the wheel mounting face to the back of the hoop). AFAIK, offset merely tells you where the mounting face is compared to the center of the wheel (positive offset brings the mounting face closer to the outside of the car, negative offset beings the mounting face closer to the centerline of the car, resulting in a "concave" wheel).

Disclaimer: I may be totally wrong about this, so don't go buying wheels until someone else either confirms or denies my assertions.
