I really wanted a chrome mesh wheel, but that is near impossible to find, especially in a style I like that fits in my budget.


Is it possible to polish mesh style wheels to a mirror finish? I would imagine, if it is possible, that it would be tedious. But if one has the time, is this feasible?

The wheels come in a machined silver, so thats a good starting poinit, right?

 

Do you mean a mesh similar to a GTA wheel or are you talking about something different?

Anything is possible I suppose, but the first time you drove it you'd have brake dust in all the spaces.

 

Machined finish will probably be cleared. Make sure they are! While possible, polishing them would be way more time than it's worth!

 

I would be polishing these. I just think they would look alot better if the center was polished like the lip.

BUT, if you stay up on them and they are highly polished it wouldn't be too bad.

That being said..... I spent around 2 hours before each car show on 5 star wheels on our old SS. I won't do it again!

its a high maintenance look and I just like driving better than polishing spent more time polishing than cleaning car

I had fully polished budnik , they where very nice looking but I would never own a polish will again unless it's clear powder coated over and just the lip and that's a big maybe lol

To keep them looking good you will spend alot of hours rubbing yours wheels

 

If you have polished wheels, you can use a wax (metal wax) or sealer (wheel sealer) on them for protection.

This would a) minimize brake dust buildup and b) keep the finish from oxidizing so quickly.

You can also use these products on painted or coated wheels as long as the surface is squeaky clean and not porous.
