interesting noise when driving
1st time 3rd gen owner here and i am seeking input on what the noises i am hearing. so, when i drive and hold the steering wheel as flush and straight as i can i hear a popping restless sound coming from the front of the car. i recently replaced the Sway bar end links. i had my car safety inspected and they mentioned nothing about ball joints, or the "arm" thing that rests at the top. the other noise i hear is when making a sharp turn my tires make a rubbing noise but are not rubbing the frame or anything on the vehicle and tend to drag when turning. other than these stated noises i really can not think of anything more to inquire about. tomorrow i will for sure see of any of the tires may be possibly rubbing the body at all.

If it's rubbing on full lockout turns mine does that. The front tires (245/50/16s) rub the corner of the tire against the splash guard at the back of the fender well.
Other than that driving noises can be a pain to track down. In my experience usually tie rods cause shaking in the steering wheel, slack feeling, or noise (popping) when turning.
Strut mounts can pop and make some noises if they are bad and you go over even minor bumps. Sometimes you hear them other times you can't.
A good local shop should be able to check it out for you. If anything might be a good idea to get an alignment if the previous owners haven't had it done recently. Usually most shops will let you know if they find anything wrong with tie rods or ball joints at that time.

thanks for the reply, yeah it makes like a dragging almost slight bounce when making a sharp turn when parked or going very slow. And yes ill see if i can have them check it out good for when i get my front end alignment soon. shocks and struts are new, confirmed this earlier tonight. the noise is like i said a popping and rattle all in one. the rattle feels like is coming from front left side, and popping feels like its coming from somewhere where the steering wheel goes to i can feel it pulsate the wheel but no sway or tugging other than the tires due to alignment being needed.

one thing i forgot to mention is my steering is rather stiff, but power steering is working, replacing the Vbelt for the pump earlier this month. i will say one thing, i have learned a lot by owning this car and quite honestly its a experience. of course it helps when i have my dads machine shop to work on it. anyways thanks for the reply.
