Tire Scrub

I'm having a issue with my tire contacting the rear fender at highway speeds, usually 65+mph, however the only scrubbing is on the passenger side. I have some older style Corvette Rallys that I purchased from Summit with the correct back spacing. The questions I have is why would only one side be scrubbing and what are some suggestions for solutions. I replaced the rear shocks and springs, moog variable rate springs and Monroe sensa-trac shocks, which helped but did not completely solve the issue.
Thanks for any and all help

Re: Tire Scrub

The rear axle is offset in these cars from the factory
A adjustable Panhard bar will help you fix that.
As said above, more tire wheel info is needed.

Re: Tire Scrub

What backspacing?

Sounds like u need an adjustable Panhard bar to center up the axle, but I have a feeling you may still have problems unless the wheels fit really well and you roll the fenders lips.
Any pics you could post?

Re: Tire Scrub

Im looking at a 4 1/2 offset. The main issue is that the tire is a bit wider than the fender can allow. I'll try to get and post pictures momentarily.

Re: Tire Scrub

I have heard of 15x10 and 15x8 rally's but never 15x9.
You sure that's the size?

It may be a 15x8, that was my original thought. I came up with the 9 by measuring the tire on the wheel minus an inch. Hopefully these pictures help.

Re: Tire Scrub

If the wheels measure 9" wide, they are 8" wheels with 4.5" of bs

You need the adjustable panhard bar for sure, and see what happens, if it still rubs both sides, then roll the fenders and you should be good to go.

Re: Tire Scrub

After further investigation I have 15x10 wheels (I found the receipt) I have the 4.5 offset. Would coil spring blocks fix the issue?

Re: Tire Scrub

If tbey are 15x10 with 4.5" of bs they will never fit right with raising the back of the car a few inches. Best bet is probably moog iroc replacement spring since they are pretty stiff and generally raise the car a few inches.

Or sell them and get proper wheels

Re: Tire Scrub

Air Bags/Drag Bags "in" the springs.
You don't want to use the "T" fitting on the are bag hoses. You run them independently . One line for each one.
The "T" fitting will allow air transfer from one bag to the other. You don't want that.

A 295/50r15 on a 10" wide 4.5 bs wheel will be sticking out of the well past the flair.
The option above is really the only one if you insist on keeping that combination.
If you cant now ? At max inflation you should be able to put people in the back seat.

Re: Tire Scrub

I'm considering putting 275/60/15 tires on it, hoping to pull the overlap in.
