Re: BFGoodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2...Opinions?
Yea, they'll be here Friday, I ran BF's before, just not this one.
I just can't trust 10 year old tires.Lots of tread but......
I just keep spending.
Doing the rear brake piston recall this weekend along with caliper hoses and pads.
I need brakes!

I have 2 local customers that have them on our wheels in 275-40-17 and love them - great feedback regarding ride, wet and dry traction, and noise.
f you are looking at 245-50-16, it is going to be your only summer tire choice to get.

Bob, I heard some good things about these the BFG's on my iroc FB group so I ordered a set about 30 minutes ago from Discount Tire. They should arrive around 3pm and I'll post some pics. The salesman said they should be good for 35000 miles although they don't back them with a warranty because they are performance tires. My understanding is they are very sticky and s softer compound so they wear well. I'm curious to hear what others have to say.

I looked at the Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500, but went with the BF's. It's too bad the selection is so few with the 16's; used to be so many choices 25 years ago!

I have them on my stock wheels with only a few hundred miles on them. They seem OK but the do pick up a lot of small rocks. For a comparison, my Rivals don't pick up any but they have less tread depth.

I loved the Indy 500's on my Judge - I'd buy them again without hesitation.
Damn - I seem to remember tires being $200+ when these cars were new & I went through a bunch of rear ones.

You won't be disappointed, but +1 on the rock slinging. I was just thinking the other day how the grand cherokee would drive over a pile of cinders and salt and I didn't hear anything hitting the rockers like the Z. Height has something to do with it, but deep tread and thin gaps between makes more sense.

I got 15k out of the Gatorbacks on my 88 when new. Something about the looks of a "squared look" Gatorback!!

Yes, came in yesterday one day early. Door to Door kicked butt on the delivery, zero issues. I took today off from work to clean her up, have her inspected, register her and get her some pretty new shoes. The DMV was ridiculous but got it done. I got a couple of hours to do some cruising then off to Discount Tire for some new rubber. Glad to hear good things about the BFG's from other members.

Running them in a 245/50-16 on stock IROC's.
Nice tire good cornering, good ride, very quiet! No complaints here plus they look awesome! All business on the sidewall, plus they are wide, at least for a 245 tire.

I have them in 255/50/16. They are the best tires I have run on my car. Good wear and great grip.

Re: BFGoodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2...Opinions?
I have these on my car in a 275/40/17, they're good if all you plan on doing is driving it around, but as far as traction there isn't much of it. My 4 year old sumitomos on 18" wheels hooked up a little bit better than the Sport Comp 2's do brand new.
You do get what you pay for as far as tires, and I knew I wasn't going to get much when I spent $130 a tire in that size. But they'll get the car from A-B just fine.

It's about the only decent choice left in the 16" category.. I have a set on the front of my stock IROC and like em.. Really chews thru the water when caught in a torrential downpour.. haven't hydroplaned like all the others before would..

Re: BFGoodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2...Opinions?
I have 245's on the front and 255's on the rear and I was doing 70+ mph down the grapevine in snow and it never hinted at breaking loose. For those that don't know, the Grapevine on I-5 is a mountain overpass that is pretty steep.
Re: BFGoodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2...Opinions?
the earlier versions were very soft, I have them on my formula, no complaints though. I have the later versions on my 5th gen and I like the feel of them better.

I have about 5,000 miles on them and they are great. No complaints and would buy again in a heartbeat.
Re: BFGoodrich G-Force Sport COMP-2...Opinions?
For people who might be partial to BFGoodrich tires, the company now offers three Ultra High Performance tires in 245/50ZR16; two of them are All Season tires, and one of those is brand new, just released.
There's the g-Force Sport Comp-2, about which this thread was created, which is rated one of the very best tires on dry pavement, but much less impressive on wet roads:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
Just released is the g-Force Comp-2 A/S:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
The third tire is an All Season replacement for the popular, but discontinued KDW, the g-Force Super Sport A/S:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
If/when I replace my 245/50ZR16s, my choice will be the Super Sport A/S. But the introduction of the new Comp-2 A/S is especially important because it offers up another choice in the ever-shrinking 245/50ZR16 line-up.

I just bought a set at Sears tonight and the guy price matched TireRack and threw in a tire protection plan too. They just seem like a great tire for the American muscle car.
