issue with removing tires

my t/a has the skinny 15 inch rims with pretty destroyed tires, if picked up a set of the 16 inch rims off of a WS6 car. the issue im having is that my rims/tires will not come off the rear, the front gave me some issues but with some pb blaster, a rubber mallet, and a few curses later they came off. is there something else about the rear i need to know? the lug nuts are off but the tire does not budge, ive noticed that there is a metal piece in the middle of the rim where the cap should cover, this was not an issue on the front but the rear i cant seem to remove the tire. and also would i need to get longer studs to account for the larger rim size?
the silver rims are the ones im removing, the gold rims are the replacements.

Re: issue with removing tires

Put two lug nuts back on loosely, back up to the tire and give the side wall a all you can muster "mule kick". It may take a couple times (rotate kick), having been in the auto biz it worked for me many many times.

You shouldn't have to do anything with the lug studs.....

Re: issue with removing tires

yup. put on your best kickin' boots and give it a good one.

Sometimes rims just get stuck (especially on drum brake rears) when they haven't been taken off in a while.

Re: issue with removing tires

Be careful not to kick it off your jack - the two loose lugs is a good tip just in case.

A dead blow hammer to the back of the rim may help as well - be careful.

Or loosen the nuts a bit and drive the car a bit forward and backward, braking hard.
Don't need to go faster than idle speed.
