Tire size for 19s??

what is a good size to run on 8.5 and 9.5s? I have a 2 inch drop and want the wheels to fill the wheel well and look good. What should i do?

One that fits. What is your intended purpose? Road racing? Drag racing? Daily driver? Show car? How wide is the wheel?

Learn how to Google. Learn what the tire designation mean. See what tire sizes are available.

Depending on what year and model 3rd gen you are working with, stock was 225/60/15 or 245/50/16. Overall size, the stock tires are about 8.8" to 9.6" wide and 25.6" tall. Let's say you will stick with the 245 (9.6") wide tire. To achieve the same 25.6" height, you would need a 35 series on a 19" rim...245/35/19, which is available. If you want a taller tire, such as 245/40/19, that is also available and is 26.7" tall.

Re: Tire size for 19s??

My $.02, 19" wheels make too much wheel and not enough tire/sidewall on a thirdgen. 16s or 17s are good. Stan aka "Big_Mods" has the benchmark for 18s...here or here

On the 8.5" wheel... 235/35. or, see if another tire is offered in 245/35. Or, even the 255/35.
On the 9.5" wheel... 275/30 pairs with the 235/35. Or 275/35 to go with the 245/35 or 255/35.
