4th Gen Wheels
Hello,
I'm looking at 4th gen wheels for my 87 Firebird since I'm also in the market for a LS1 rear. I have the standard front discs from 87, so do I need spacers up front? If so, why exactly would I? I haven't been able to find an answer exactly.
Thanks a lot

You need 2 inch spacers all the way around on your car to run 4th gen rims on any 3rd gen. The back spacing is not correct for the wheels to work

Thanks a lot! Have you had any personal experience with spacers? I read some don't think it's a good idea because it puts unwanted pressure on the axle, but others say there aren't any problems.

It doesnt put any more stress on the axle because the stock 16 inch rims on a thirdgen has the same back spacing your creating on a 4th gen rim with the adapter. I ran a set of 17 inch 5 spoke ss rims for 65000 without issue before I sold the car.
