225-55-16 tires on 9 inch rim?
Has anybody put 225-55-16 tires on 9 inch rim?
Currently I have 225-55-16 on 8 inch rim at front and 245-50-16 on 9 inch rim at rear, but here in Japan it's impossible to find 245-50-16 any more.
So I'm thinking about putting 225-55-16 at rear too.

U certainly would mot drive these low, low profile tires in my city. potholes, pavement crack & just plain rough roads would destroy the tires & rims & suspension! Besides they look like crap.

on a 9 inch wheel, you could technically go wider if there is something available... up to a 275 or so.

Those tires are the same profile as the stock 245/50-16, only not as wide.
A 9-inch rim is really too wide for a 225, but people run 'em.
8 inches would be more appropriate...

Go wider if you can. 225 is way to stretched for a 9" rim. Check out the spec sheets of the tires you are considering. They will give you an acceptable width range for their tires. No two manufacturers will be the same.
